Arizona Restaurant Week

By: Emily Balli

From Sept. 19 through Sept. 28 over 160 unique local restaurants in the greater Phoenix and Tucson areas will be showcasing some of their most tasty items with three course meals ranging anywhere from $20 – $44.

“Business is always great here during restaurant week. There’s always plenty of new faces as well as our always loyal regulars,” said Roman Kettler, manager of Arrowhead Grill.

Arizona Restaurant Week is one of the best ways to try local restaurants for a more affordable price. Every restaurant that is participating creates a pre-priced three course meal for guests to try that includes some of their signature or most popular items.

Some restaurants will start things off in the first course with a soup or salad, while others will allow guests to try a signature appetizer. The second course is the entrée, with most restaurants offering about three or four different dishes to choose from. The third and final course is the dessert, and most restaurants offer about one to four dessert options to end the meal. In addition, some restaurants will also be including an alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage to go along with the meal.

“Our [Restaurant Week] menu will feature some of our signature items including our Delmonico steak, prime rib, fire roasted chicken, mashed yukon potatoes, our signature butter cake and our decadent flourless chocolate cake, as well as several salads and clam chowder,” said Kettler.

There’s something for everyone with 161 different restaurants participating in Arizona Restaurant Week this fall. Many different types of cuisine are available to try. To name a few, there will be Italian, Mexican, American, Ethiopian and Indian restaurants participating as well as Steak, Seafood, and Sushi restaurants. There will also be a variety of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options to choose from.

Arizona Restaurant Week takes place all over the Valley. In fact, several restaurants are participating here in Glendale including Arrowhead Grill, Betty’s Nosh, Carrabbas and The Melting Pot. There are also many more restaurants partaking in Arizona Restaurant Week all over Phoenix and Tucson. The restaurants in the Phoenix area will have menus pre-priced at either $33 or $44 and the restaurants in Tucson will have menus pre-priced at $20, $30 or $40.

If you are unable to check out Arizona Restaurant Week from Sept. 19 through Sept 28 fortunately it is a bi-annual event, and it will take place again in Spring 2015.
